COVID-19 Information

The COVID-19 Pandemic is greatly affecting travel to Kauai.  Kauai has been working vigilantly to control the virus and they have been very successful.   Kauai has averaged one or two daily cases for most of the pandemic.  To achieve these results, strict quarantines of visitors have been implemented.  The quarantine rules have been changing so it is important to stay abreast of the latest information.  Kauai has implemented a stricter quarantine policy than the state of Hawaii.

As of January 4, the county of Kauai requires a 10 day quarantine for visitors arriving from another state. Visitors cannot quarantine at a short term rental accommodation property like Wailua Bay View. However, with negative Covid testing, visitors are allowed to stay in a quarantine resort bubble hotel and leave the quarantine after 3 days.

To qualify, a visitor must have a negative Covid test no more than 72 hours prior to arriving Kauai. Upon arrival, the guest must stay in a resort bubble hotel property. Within the resort bubble hotel, quarantining guests have access to amenities such as the pools and restaurants. Guests can leave the resort bubble after a negative Covid test at least 72 hours after arrival.

There are a few resort bubble hotels near Wailua Bay View:

Hilton Garden Inn - Wailua Beach - This basic hotel is a 15 minute walk from Wailua Bay View.

Timbers Kauai - This is a new luxurious hotel / condo resort near the airport.

Kauai Marriott - Lihue - Typical Marriott property on pretty Kalapaki Bay near the airport.

Another alternative is to stay for 72 hours on Oahu.  Oahu allows visitors to avoid a quarantine with a negative COVID test within 72 hours of arrival.  After spending 72 hours on Oahu, visitors can take a COVID test and with a negative test result fly to Kauai with no quarantine necessary upon arrival.

We will provide a refund for any days that guests cannot stay at our condo because they are staying at a resort bubble hotel . Also, because of the coronavirus pandemic, guests with an existing reservation for a future stay may cancel or reschedule their reservation and receive a full refund at any point in time even if cancelled on the arrival date.
